Granulation Technology
Liquid raw material which occurs as lotion, suspension, or melting is transformed into a dust-free and pourable product – this is Granulation Technology in the broadest sense.
Granulate properties such as particle size, solidity, and porosity can be influenced target-oriented by choosing specific processes.
Concerning to the special requirements of a particular product we use most diverse granulation processes:
- granulation and agglomeration in fluidized beds
- melting granulation
- rotor granulation
- pelletisation
- extrusion
- spray drying
- crystallisation
The ideal granulation process parameters can be identified by the analysis of the performance characteristics of the hereby formed granules which are particle size, bulk density, or moisture. These data again are basal to develop a process engineering master plan right up to the preparation of an industrial plant.
