NaWiTec - Research Group Fluidized Bed Technology
The NaWiTec group (German acronym for Research Group Fluidized Bed Technology) investigates under the direction of Jun.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mirko Peglow the particle formulation processes in fluidized beds. Since 2009 the NaWiTec project is founded for a duration of 5 years by the German Federal Ministery for Research and Eduction in the framework of the program "Innoprofile-Unternehmen Region".
The NaWiTec group is equipped with state-of-the-art lab scale and pilot plants and instruments for particle analysis.
Pergande Gruppe (VTA GmbH, IPT GmbH)
The Pergande Group is one the the leading companies in the area of granulation technology. The company has several production plants for the tolling manufactoring such as fluidized bed granulation, crystallization, high shear granulation and melt granulation. Based on an excellent cooperation and a trusting partnership between the Pergande Group and AVA several successful projects were acquired such as the WIGRATEC-project.
Chair for Thermal Process Engineering
The Chair of Thermal Process Engineering of the University Magdeburg under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Evangelos Tsotsas investigates the fundamentals of heat and mass transfer in particle systems and porous media. This comprises fluidized beds, mechanically agitated beds, packed beds, agglomerates and membranes. Applications are drying and particle formulation (agglomeration, granulation, coating) for the fine-chemical, pharmaceutical and food industry, reaction and separation technologies, power generation from biomass, and storage media for energy.
